Top of the World

Winding our way down the long limbed Appalachian mountains provided the perfect introduction to our All American road trip. Magnificent vistas, small town diners, old-time music and endless, sweeping roads made the slow route the obvious choice for our southbound journey.

The ultimate scenic drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway connects two of America's National Parks via 469 miles of narrow asphalt which glide along an impossible stretch of peaks. Needless to say, the views are outstanding. On top of that, there's road-side wildlife, cheap camping spots and picnic stops a-plenty.

Making the most of our new digs, we stopped the van at each overlook for a photo opp, a picnic, or in this case a coffee break with a priceless view.
