Yesterday we shimmied back in time to the 'Jazz Age Lawn Party' on New York's Governors Island. The sun peeked out, picnic rugs were laid, and glad rags were donned, leading me to wish that every day was an 'occasion' as fabulous as the 1920's. Due to the lack of a full sized wardrobe C.P. and I did a speedy thrift shop and pulled together some slightly feasible outfits, though I longed for the furs and hats of home, and I have an inkling my chosen dress was more 40's than 20's. Oh, well. Aside from the humble pie contest and rambunctious jazz moves, one of the highlights was making friends with the amazing photographer I have borrowed from above; Mr. Eric Berry (check him out). He also happens to be an expert in US National Park-ology so we took some notes for our impending road trip and headed off into the night. |
